Holla’ from Sacramento!
I guess it’s been highly publicised by now that I’m no longer in the Glow in the Dark tour. It’s very, very sad; but I’ve got a lot of other work that I need to do, and scheduling conflicts just wouldn’t let me finish it up. Luckily, all the other bands that are part of the tour are insanely hot, so I don’t think I’ll be too missed. Damn was it cool while it lasted, though. It was my first ‘big’ tour. I did the Good Girl Gone Bad tour, which was mostly in the UK—but this was solely a US tour that went from coast to coast. I loved being on the road like that, and all of the dudes doing their own shows were great travelling partners, even if the bastards liked to make an utter mess of the buses.
Seriously. It was like sharing a room with my brother—but a very, very tiny room that didn’t like to stop moving unless it was a pre-determined destination. We had to beg our drivers to just stop at a couple places along the way while we were in California so we could go to the beach for a couple of hours, or just stretch our feet and explore. Damn did Mike—my driver—hate that. However, I think the boys were almost relieved when it came time for me to pack up and head on out to start filming the sequel to Transformers. Some of them actually had toys from the film on tour with them. I had to sign those toys.
So while I love working, I’m definitely exhausted. It was pretty much filming Jennifer’s Body, to filming Twilight, to tour, and now Transformers 2. I’m tres tired. But hell, it’s awesome. Sacramento is pretty quiet, which is kind of lame, because there’s not a whole lot to do when I’m not on set. Soon we’ll be picking up and going off to the next locale though, so I shouldn’t be too cranky about that.
Hell—shouldn’t I be taking the down time to, you know, have down time?
Hah! Never gonna happen.
So now that the tours over, and filming has commenced, I have to actually start taking stunt training again. It’s kind of awesome. I had to do a lot of this kind of work on Hills, and on the first Transformers, but they’ve got me doing a shit load more this time in the way of physical violence. And I’ll admit. Doing my own stunts? Kind of fantastic. I don’t want to end up with my head through a wall or some crazy crap like that, but it’s nice to be able to, you know, get to play the action star.
Guess it’s a good thing I have mad coordination.
